Boiling

  • Thawing – If you have frozen crab legs, you can place them in the fridge overnight to thaw slowly. If you do not have the time, run them under cold water for a few minutes.
  • Pot It – Add water and seasonings to a pot, and boil it on medium-high to high heat. Your seasonings can consist of salt, garlic powder, and dill.
  • Add the Crab – Bring the heat to medium and add the legs. They should take three to six minutes to cook.
  • Serve – Remove the warm crab legs and serve them immediately with melted butter optionally.

Steaming

  • Thawing – Thaw slowly overnight in the fridge or use fresh crab.
  • Pot It – Using a special steaming pot, fill the bottom portion with water (about two cups), and set it to boil, along with one tablespoon of salt.
  • Steam It – Place your crab on the steaming rack, and cover them for about six minutes of cooking time.
  • Serve – Serve them warm with some melted butter on the side, if desired.

  • Thawing – Thaw the legs overnight in the fridge, run them over cold water for a few minutes, or use fresh crab legs and skip the thawing process entirely.
  • Set the Oven – Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and place a pan filled with 1/8th of an inch of water. Using hot or warm water is ideal.
  • Add Crab – Place the legs in a single layer into the pan and cover with aluminum foil
